Disaster Recovery Center to open for 3 days in Rock Port

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will give area Missouri residents an opportunity to learn more about assistance that may be available beginning tomorrow in Atchison County. FEMA has representatives that provide one-on-one assistance to people needing help after a disaster. Media Relations specialist for FEMA, Angela Byrd, says FEMA will help people with any questions they might have.

"Any questions that they may have, letters of eligibility that they received. They may have questions about or need some clarification.  They are able to sit down with a representative that can help them."

Byrd says it is important for people to visit a disaster recovery center when in need of assistance.

"Take the opportunity to visit a disaster recovery center, especially one that's close to their home.  But they can actually visit any disaster recovery center.  So this disaster recovery center will be open in Atchison County for three days."

The disaster recovery center in Atchison County will be located at University Extension, Velma Houts Building in Rock Port tomorrow through Saturday from 8am to 7pm each day.
